Mitchells & Butlers acquired the brown field site on reclamation land off the newly developed Cardiff Bay residential area. Being a brown field site, the ground condition required stabilisation, this was accomplished in the form of deep driven piles connected to a cast reinforced concrete ring beam which supported the erection of the steel structure. The external cladding facade was via composite panels, glazing and cedar panelling to compliment the unique curved profile aluminium roofing system that is very popular with the planning in the area. the new build programme was completed from brown field site to handover in 23 weeks with zero defects.
