The site was purchased by Tesco as one of the last units in the newly developed McArthur Glen shopping centre, located in Swindon city centre. Tesco partnered the Giraffe restaurant with ourselves following a series of fast track successful Giraffe and Decks shell fit out restaurant projects. Once the contracts/agreements were in place we mobilised within 3 days for the full turnkey operation deploying all our in house facilities (Construction/Joinery/Mechanical/Electrical) required to meet the fast track programme of 4 weeks. We firstly had to fire quilt the internal shell to 2 hours fire resistance to ensure our working space was independently secure from the outlet. The area was especially sensitive with the public having access around our site and additional constraints imposed by the main contractors refurbishment programme. Our programme was to work 24 hours a day splitting shifts to ensure the restaurant was trading within 6 weeks of the purchase, to secure the Christmas trade. We successfully handed over to the client as per programme from empty shell to finished restaurant.
